Finn Russell & Braeside Bond: A Modern Scottish Story Rooted at Lindores

There are few figures in modern Scottish sport who embody creativity, flair and confidence quite like Finn Russell. On the rugby pitch, he is known for his instinctive brilliance and fearless decision-making. Off the pitch, that same spirit has led him into a partnership that feels uniquely Scottish at its core – as brand ambassador for Spiritfilled.

At the heart of that story sits Braeside Bond, Spiritfilled’s bonded warehouse right here at Lindores.

A Natural Partnership: Rugby Meets Whisky

Spiritfilled’s approach to whisky challenges tradition in much the same way Finn Russell challenges defences. The company champions enjoyment, accessibility and individuality – encouraging people not just to invest in whisky, but to experience it.

It’s no surprise, then, that Finn Russell felt an affinity with the brand. As he himself has noted, whisky – like rugby, is about patience, craft and ultimately enjoyment.

That shared mindset has seen him step into the role of brand ambassador, helping to bring whisky to a wider, more modern audience while staying rooted in Scottish heritage.

Braeside Bond: Built On Lindores Farm

Braeside Bond is more than just a warehouse – it is the operational backbone of Spiritfilled’s vision. Located in the rolling landscape of our family working farm, the 20,000 sq ft bonded facility can house up to 14,000 casks, providing secure, climate-controlled maturation for whisky from across Scotland and beyond.

Crucially, it’s location on the farm places it within one of the most historic and significant locations in Scotch whisky.

That proximity creates a powerful link between past and present. Lindores Abbey is widely regarded as the spiritual home of Scotch whisky, with the earliest written reference to distillation in Scotland dating back to 1494. Today, with Braeside Bond operating less than 2 miles away, that story continues — now through cask ownership, maturation and innovation.

Spiritfilled themselves recognise this connection, working closely with us to create experiences that combine whisky, landscape and hospitality.

Innovation In Tradition

Braeside Bond reflects a new era in whisky. Significant investment – approaching seven figures has gone into the site, including advanced racking systems and digital warehouse technology that allows cask owners to track their whisky in real time.

This blend of transparency, technology and tradition is reshaping how people engage with whisky – opening up the world of cask ownership to a global audience.

From The Six Nations To Scotch

Finn Russell’s role as brand ambassador comes alongside his continued success on the international stage. As a key figure for Scotland in the Six Nations – and a British & Irish Lion, he represents the country at the very highest level.

That visibility brings a new audience into whisky. Fans who watch him orchestrate play at Murrayfield or on Six Nations weekends are now discovering a different side of Scottish culture — one rooted in craftsmanship, patience and provenance.

In many ways, Finn Russell acts as a bridge: connecting modern Scotland with its traditions, and bringing whisky into conversations far beyond the warehouse walls.

A Shared Story

For us, the connection to Spiritfilled and Braeside Bond is both geographical and philosophical.

It’s about heritage — honouring where Scotch whisky began.
It’s about innovation — embracing new ways to experience and enjoy whisky.
And it’s about people — from distillers and cask owners to ambassadors like Finn Russell, who carry the story forward.

Together, it creates something uniquely compelling: a collaboration that ties world-class sport, modern whisky culture and centuries of history into one place.

Right here at Lindores.
