Manor Hotel is a B-listed Victorian
villa, set in its own landscaped grounds
in the West End conservation area of
Greenock. Grand as the facade is, you'll
be even more impressed when you step

Lindores Manor was designed and built by the
Lyle family, half of the famous Tate & Lyle sugar refiners who were among the most
successful entrepreneurs in Greenock's industrial heyday. They certainly spared no expense
when they built this sandstone mansion, but don't worry! Since 1994, the Hotel has been completely upgraded with modern facilities so you can enjoy all this Victorian splendour
without giving up your modern comforts.
This beautiful
landmark property has always been admired, just ask the WRNS - the Women's Royal
Naval Service. Over 80 'Wrens' were stationed here during World War II, and they often come back from Canada or the US on holiday, bringing their children and
grandchildren. They tell wonderful stories about their adventures here - in fact,
they've even told a few ghost stories about Lindores Manor...
